A letter of thanks from 22.02.2022 has been published from the General Prosecutor’s Office of Koblenz, Germany in connection with a successful joint operation on the territory of several countries with active participation in Bulgaria. In May 2020 Eurojust Coordination Center has been set up to conduct simultaneous investigations into Bulgaria, Germany, Israel, Sweden, Poland and Northern Macedonia. With excellent organization and good coordination and with the active participation of Prosecutor Nikolay Dimitrov from the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office was discovered and neutralized an internationally organized criminal group dealing with online criminal fraud scheme for cryptocurrency trading, which affected thousands of citizens in Europe and the property damage amounted to about 30m euros. In the so-called Common Action Day, six defendants were detained in all countries, many European investigation orders, European arrest warrants were executed and huge funds were seized. We bring this letter to your attention, as it is an occasion for national pride and an indication of the work of our national bureau in Eurojust and the Bulgarian Prosecutor’s Office.
